Our blood pressure has to be between certain numbers or we get in major trouble.

It is the same with our temperature, oxygen saturation and blood sugar. And most of us are aware of this and work on this.

We take medications as prescribed, because we want to see our grandchildren graduate and we want a long healthy life.

Nevertheless, many of us are overweight, obese even, and we do not seem to be concerned about that weight loss.

We recognize that we are fat and we make jokes about people who are even fatter.

Even though we know that exercise and a healthy diet are essential, we do not seem to be able to work that into our schedule.

Obesity leads to a lot of health problems and disrupts homeostasis big time, but we have to go through that drive-through for our daily portion of junk food and we have candy in our cars and purses. It is time to do something about it. We need to at least try to lower our fat intake. We have to realize the consequences of doing nothing.

It is time for us to learn how our body works so that we can take charge and change our situation for the better. It is especially helpful to us to inform ourselves on how the thermogenic process works.

We take in calories and burn fat. To burn fat faster we have to boost our metabolism. People with a fast metabolism lose weight faster, easier.

A healthy diet is important, but speeding up our metabolism, triggering the thermogenic process, is just as important. It is important to those who have to fight obesity and it is important to those who want to prevent obesity.

When we want to achieve weight loss, we need to learn what it takes. Most diets are not the solution to the problem. Most diets are based on eating less or taking certain foods out of our daily intake. It will lead to all kinds of deficits. Vitamin deficiency will make us feel hunger at times that we should not snack. We will be more tired and not ready to fight infections.
